Third day of a Manowar binge. This song makes me wanna put on a denim vest and drink paint thinner until I forget all my book learnin'.

Blind Guardian, Saxon and now Manowar. All true warriors of the faith.

All hail The Batlord!

In-****ing-deed.

Now for a break from the epic metal orgy. I wouldn't give up Electric Wizard for anything, but Lord of Putrefation (Jus Osbourne's first band) is one of the most kickass death/doom bands I've ever heard.

Yep, we all know how Meshuggah goes. Kind of a trippy song.

Sure it's not the other way around?

My current metal and nu-metal song obsessions are these:

Drowning Pool - "Bodies"
I love the buildup in the music and lyrics that go, "Nothing wrong with me, nothing wrong with me, nothing wrong with me, something's got to give, something's got to give, something's got to give NOWWWWWWW!!!"

Very satisfying. There's nothing quite like a good, cathartic scream.

Let The Bodies Hit The Floor (Lyrics) - YouTube

P.O.D. - "Boom"
Grungy rhythm guitar + saucy attitude + in-your-face rap lyrics = tasty!! I didn't know what nu-metal was before listening to this song and looking it up. I enjoyed learning something new!

Boom - P.O.D.

I never much cared for POD they come across preachy on religion. They opened up for Primus about ten years back at Sun Theater and it was the oddest pairing i've ever seen live. They do have a huge fan base so they're doing something right. Nu Metal didn't really cross over in my crowd but for a few bands.

If I had to pick one song in the Nu Metal vein it would be Passenger.

Managed to break the habit of a lifetime and listen to a metal band that didn't form last Century. Whatever next!
