Yeah, as far as I am concerned they died with Cliff Burton.

Lou should just pick better bands to collaborate with, one that compliment his talents. Metallica is just not a good match for him.

Maybe metallica did die with cliff, but they were still great in that era. They were great until the black album. They made some terrible albums, no doubt, but when they were in their prime, they were the greatest metal band of their time. Second greatest ever behind Sabbath.

I personally don't see MoP and AJFA as great albums, sure they have their moments, but as albums overall... Meh.

I do, i can hardly tolerate metal but those early metallica albums are few that i can. Im not a big metal fan, but there is some that i like, i like all kinds of music. As a lover of all music, i think Metallica certainly was one of the best. I love their classical style in some of their songs. They were a little more than just thrashing power chords and screaming vocals, unlike most metal bands.

This is just the perfect example of aging rock stars. Lou Reed is so old that he thinks Metallica is probably still relevant...Metallica is so old they are just bored playing. This is horrible, but I have to say it sounds exactly like what I expected it would.

Storyline: a man-eating prostitute eventually gets mutilated by Jack the Ripper...wasn't this more or less done before by Cannibal Corpse?

If you want to hear Reed sing about a whore, listen to "Berlin".

Lars Ulrich stated on That Metal Show that the Lou Reed thing, was nothing more than a recorded jam session with no kind of musical structure.

I personally don't care if I never hear it.
