I do not know if i would go that far to say it is pop. "Hooch", "Night Goat" and "Honey Bucket" rank amongst some of their "heaviest".... those 3 alone are better than the entire "Stoner Witch" album in my opinion.

"Lizzy" is the only slower song on the album, as well as the KISS cover I guess.

It has those couple more noisy songs thrown in, "Sky Pup", "Pearl Bomb" and "Spread Eagle Beagle"

But it never borders on pop.

"Stoner Witch" is a lot more punkier and more "rock n roll" than "Houdini", if I might add

lol man.... Stoner Witch is way more "accessible" than "Houdini"

everything about it just sounds more geared to a mainstream market than Houdini.

Both are good in their own right. But "Houdini" just has a sound that is lacking from "Stoner Witch"

naw, it is middle of the line for Melvins. "Houdini", "Bullhead", "Lysol"... all 3 are better than "Stoner Witch".

Uh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. If you read my posts subsequent that one you'll see which I meant, and that is: Kill 'Em All. Sorry for the confusion, but that post was meant to be somewhat confusing. I was just BSing the guy since I'd seen someone else do that, too, the same guy I was BSing, you say?

Have I read correctly? The Melvins? I thought they were punkish, not heavy metalish...?
