This. I am not a huge Megadeth fan, but I think they had some great moments. "Rust in Peace" being their most loved... though I tend to go for "Peace Sells...." over it.

Never was huge on Anthrax. I like the odd song here and there, but there is not one album of theirs I can listen to from start to finish. "Madhouse" is kinda fun, as is "Caught in a Mosh" and their cover of "Got the Time" by Joe Jackson..

Never got the appeal in Anthrax. Never liked the vocals all that much. Slayer is still my favorite of the big 4, but Megadeth comes in second.

Compared to Metallica, Pantera and Slayer I agree that Anthrax were second rate. I don't think they got that much attention though.

Megadeth is boring.

Compared to Slayer and Metallica I agree. But Pantera? Come on.

you and your Pantera hate

they're great

well, "Vulgar Display", "Far Beyond Driven" (except the horrible Sabbath cover) and "The Great Southern Trendkill" anyway

Personally I like them for reasons or not. But they were definitely miles ahead of Anthrax regardless of preference IMO.

Ugh, god no. And I don't even rate Anthrax that highly.

I am hardly a Pantera fan... but I do not think "Planet Caravan" is a horrible cover, just a really bland one. They didn't really do the song any different, just more a straight up cover.

I do not mind parts of "The Great Southern Trendkill".

Kinda surprised you didn't mention "Cowboys from Hell" though.... any reason, or did it just escape you at the time you posted?

well, it is a pretty horrible song as it is - even Spinal Tap felt fit to parody it, remember "Clam Caravan"?

i hardly listen to "Cowboys from Hell" - sounded pretty generic to me

Probably because it's the most accessible.
