Be Forewarned is probably the only Pentagram album I like, I find most of their other material rather dated, their 1980s releases sound older than the 1980s

I`d say the most Sabbath sounding band around and that debut album Psalm 9 is a classic doom metal release. other classic doom metal releases are:
Paradise Lost Icon
My Dying Bride Turn Loose the Swans
Candlemass Epicus Doomicus Metallicus
Katatonia Dance of December Souls
Cathedral The Carnival Bizarre

I`d say the most Sabbath sounding band around and that debut album Psalm 69 is a classic doom metal release. other classic doom metal releases are:
Paradise Lost Icon
My Dying Bride Turn Loose the Swans
Candlemass Epicus Doomicus Metallicus
Katatonia Dance of December Souls
Cathedral The Carnival Bizarre
Psalm 9 by Trouble is soooo epic.

Forest of Equilibrium and The Ethereal Mirror are more favorable albums for me by Cathedral.

I can totally agree with the Candlemass one. Epicus Doomicus Metallicus is definitely their best for me.

By Paradise Lost I generally love everything till Draconian Times (That included.) but if we're picking up the classic album by them, I would vote for Gothic.

We cannot forget about Witchfinder General if we're talking about some good doom metal pioneering. Death Penalty and Friends of Hell are some of the best metal albums ever made.

Hey Witchfinder General are great and if you`re interested in the New Wave of British Heavy Metal I created a thread some time back (Which I still need to continue and work on)

I don't really listen to that much of NWOBHM , I guess I'll go through with the bands better later on someday.

No, this was the "Best Metal Album of All Time" thread, not the "Best Thing to Do at Work When You're Boss Is Out to Lunch" thread. You silly goose.
