Default Fusion Metal

Im really into Fusion Metal and I'm hoping some of you guys are too. I just bought Step In Fluid- One Step Closer from Itunes for 7 bucks and its some of the best stuff I've heard all year. Some other notables are Exivious, 1980, and obviously Gordian Knot. If you guys know any similar acts id be stoked

Seconded all of these. I love the hell out of that Atheist album. Cynic is pretty fantastic.

Maudlin of the Well was a nice surprise. Sleepytime Gorrila Museum is pretty hard for me to get into, though, but not bad. I only have one album by Ulver but I'd recommend them. Need to catch up on Kayo Dot; I've heard the name a few times now...

Does Estradasphere count as 'metal'?

Otherwise, There's this band called Conflux that I once picked up on a random CD baby purchase that was fantastic. Sounds exactly like the ideal "Ornette Coleman meets Slayer".

They're really small but really good.

Athiest and Cynic are pioneers of this sound undoubtedly. Ive been a Sleepytime Gorilla Museum fan for quite some time. Thanks for Maudlin of the Well and Kayo Dot, really good stuff.
