They are unmistakably deathcore, there's no two ways about it. Djent really isn't a genre as much as it is a style or sound and if you looked at the link or have listened to their material, they definitely incorporate djent into their sound. I like them because they don't just solely rely on the mindless, knuckle dragging, open-note chug-a-lug breakdowns that every other core band out there does. I find the guitar work to be a highlight as well (aside from the djenting I mean).

I did give the song a listen. There were some hints of good stuff but between breakdowns and djents there was a lot of chugging in the song.

Chugg riffs can be cool, I was just commenting on the genre cliche that people harp on so much. I'm guessing you liked the melodic breaks with the lead guitar?

Yeah. My only real gripe on Osiris aside from maybe a bit much chug is their main vocalist isn't very good in my opinion.

He basically sounds like your run of the mill deathcore singer, I'd say he's just average.

As a side...I thought this thread would fare better...c'mon people!

Seeing this thread I was prepared (and hopeful) for some big time discussing...I've been pretty bored with the threads for the last couple weeks aside from the Metal Wars one.

Holy balls, the bass in this track is incredible. Reminds me a little of Arif from Protest the Hero
