the first blast beat put to tape... on what is considered by many rock fans to be the worst album ever.
Starting at about the 2:01 mark..

Carcass only made two albums for me. The first two. The change in musical style was not welcomed by myself or many others especially as we had grown up with them and seen them god knows how many times.

should listen to Necrotism again. Great album, their best I think. It bridged the gap between the early stuff and later stuff. But it also stands on it's own as an essential Death Metal album.

Necrotism was the first extreme metal album I ever heard that I didn't think was a pile of crap.

just got Heartwork and Swansong so that completes my Carcass discog
Heartwork is highly innovative and is a prime influence on the melodeath that followed Swansong i think is pretty good as well, having some stoner elements |

Wait, huh? I thought they were just touring? Please, god, let this not be Michael Amott making an Arch Enemy album under another name.

First listen, good first impression. I didn't know what to expect after that little guitar intro, but it kicks into high gear afterward. It's still melodeath, it has that Heartwork era kind of sound, but slightly harder. Definitely not an Arch Enemy album. The new drummer adds the intensity, I think, whole lot more blasts then I was expecting.
