I've only heard that Kylesa album a handful of times and it was important enough for me to want to grab, but that Kvelertak debut was really something else. It made it into my car last August and I don't think made it out until end of September when Enslaved's newest made it in (and stayed there 'til November when Agalloch's newest came out). I also don't think last year's follow up to Static Tensions was really that worthy, so I'm going to have to go with Kvelertak on this one.

Alright, I'm only into track three of the Kvelertak album, but they win. They ****ing win by a mile. I figured Kylesa would win this battle easy. I love Static Tensions. But this...is truly ****ing pwning my soul right now. This is music tailor made to put a **** eating grin on your face. I almost wanna say it doesn't belong in a metal album battle, cause it mainly sounds like really quirky hardcore. I can hear the metal, along with a bunch of other influences I can't really place yet, but this sounds closer to hardcore than metal. **** it, I don't give a ****!
And I thought Coffinworm would be the best band I discovered today. It's not very often I discover two bands I dig this much in one day. Kvelertak - 3 Kylesa - 1 Edit: Alright, I'm on song eight, and every song has been as brilliant as the last. This is the best album this thread has turned me onto yet, and one of the best albums I've heard in years. If this album loses, I'm gonna hack this site and remove it from existence...after I learn how to be a hacker of course.

Kvelertak - 3
Kylesa - 2 Kvelertak's debut is a really, really fun (and catchy) album, but Kylesa win this for me. It's just a more interesting album to me, and that filthy pummeling sludge sound gets me every time. Also, the artwork is better. :P
