It was a very close call between Sadus and Morbid Saint for me. Sadus was amazing as well.
But that cover for MOrbid Saint still makes me laugh, looks like Dave Mustaine got raped by Eddie.

^ nobody cares.
Are you a nu-metal fan as well? Seems like all of them don't have any appreciation for real metal.

Well I`ve listened to these three albums and man what a listen all three are classics and anybody who doesn`t know these needs to!!! Congratulations to Batlord for coming with three lesser known classics.
Morbid Saint is a raw thrash classic with a technical edge and better than I remembered it, but it was the other two that I`d never heard of before that really impressed me. Firstly, that Sadus album sounds like a speeded up Slayer and the technical aspect is mind-blowing at times with Steve DiGiorgio re-producing his brilliance with Death here and I was certain that this album was going to win even without hearing the Devastation album. I saw the Devastation album was produced by Scott Burns (always a sure sign I`m going to like it) I put it on and the slow intro actually sounded like the music to the old 1980s Sega game "Ghost & Goblins" and I thought oh hell.....then the whole album shot into life and I`ve gotta say the album again with its technical brilliance comes across as the greatest metal album that nobody`s ever heard off!!! Hell the albums not even featured on wiki. Agree with what Bastard said in that Sadus draws heavily from Slayer whilst Devastation draws heavily from Metallica. Therefore have to go with Devastation here just. Morbid Saint 1 Sadus 0 Devastation 2 |

I realize not all metal is about heaviness and speed and riffage (I wouldn't like Baroness very much if that's all I was expecting out of them), but I feel like (again, what I've heard) thrash metal should be a lot more engaging and gripping. Maybe I'm expecting the wrong things from it? I dunno, but whenever I hear thrash it just makes me want to listen to grindcore.
