^Sorry to disappoint but I've not heard the Mastodon album. It'll have to be just about the greatest thing since sliced bread to beat Baroness though.

Remission is prety sweet, though Mastodon aren't really my favorite band ever. The Red Album gets my vote easily. I just might go pleasure myself to that album in fact.

Having just listened to the red album, and remission side by side, I'm conflicted, but I'm going to have to go with Mastodon. Remission seems to have more of a bite.

Remission
Sure, it's unrelenting and brutal, but it's also kinda one-note. I have Crack the Skye and Blood Mountain and both are better than this. The Red Album Pretty diverse, there's "space-metal", there's blues. A strong Zeppelin-esque vibe runs throughout. Noice! so Baroness - 4 Mastodon - 1 |
