But he doesn't dress in some goofy outfit. He just looks like a viking. He looks like a mountain, he has one of the most glorious beards ever, and he just looks like what I'd imagine a viking who was dropped in the twenty first century would look. It's not just some ridiculous affectation, he's just a ****ing viking!

Johann Hegg was frozen in a glacier, and then melted back into consciousness to start Amon Amarth and keep tr00 metal alive!
Seriously speaking, the guitar melodies in their songs are epic and they are one of the most consistent bands out there in terms of putting a constant catalogue of great albums. |

In Flames take the first ever 3-way battle on here by 5-3 from At The Gates. Next up courtesy of Il Duce Benito`s long lost love child are a couple of brutal metalcore/mathcore albums. Again take a few lines explaining your choice.

He's in Amon Amarth, what do you expect? At least he doesn't dress like these guys...

Doesn`t seem that too many people know these albums by Il Duce, but anyway I`ve just listened to the Coalesce album and its a good listen, but I`ve got to go with the Converge album, hell that`s one brutal listen and it was also recently recommended to me by another member on this forum.

Converge win that one 2:1. Next up is this suggestion by hip hop bunny hop who lives on the banks of the Mississippi and these two grindcore beasts.

hmmmm... this is a tough one... I love both records... but I think I have to give it to Replusion. Their sound was so much filthier and raunchy and minimally produced.. which adds to the dark asthetic of what it set out to do. "Scum" all in all is not my favorite ND album, though it has a few good songs, especially "Siege of Power", which is one of my favorite grindcore songs.. but "Horrified" has "The Stench of Burning Death"... which is great.
All in all, I would go with Repulsion out of these 2. Just has more raunch to it, which I enjoy... My second favorite grindcore album after "World Downfall" by Terrorizer. "Scum" is a great document of early grindcore... but I would go with the follow up "From Enslavement to Obiteration" for a better representation of early Napalm Death. Repulsion - 1 Napalm Death - 0
