Just do communal metal wars. Appoint someone who wants to do them. Week by week basis. I do this one, and then if someone else has one do it next week. Leave it open to whomever has an idea. Leave a message on here calling it, or send me a PM with your choices and I will put it up for you.

Anyway. This edition is inspired by the 2 albums I commonly heard being referred to as Metal Album of the Year (I know one of these is mine, for sure).

Sure there are many choices you can throw in for albums that came out last year, but these 2 seemed to pop up more than often. Usually these bands are looked at pretty much the same.

Both were top Death Metal albums.

Ulcerate - Vermis.

vs.

Gorguts. Colored Sands.

As I said, one of these is my top choice for Metal album of the year. Both bands seem to always be put in the same sentence. Their respective brand of Technical Death Metal seem to be fairly close.

Well I already own the Gorguts one and like it so I'm looking forward to seeing how the other one stacks up.

Yeah, I picked it up for $6 at the used music store here. Even with the loss of Steeve Hurdle, Gorguts pulled through.

Gorguts, An Ocean Of Wisdom and Unearthing The Past. I don't really know much more than that about Ulcerate. Other than I have the single Burning Skies.

I haven't listened to either of these albums yet. I'm super excited about this contest and will give both my full critical attention.
