I have loads of nostalgic moments when buying albums back when I was young. I used to buy an album almost every Friday after school, the pocket money my dad gave me never quite stretched to buying an album and my mum always used to make up the difference. Nearly all those record shops that I used to buy these albums in, gradually all closed down.

Favourite Twisted Sister album has got to be Under the Blade, one of the few albums of the time by an American metal band that sounded like a NWOBHM album, it was produced by Pete Way so that explains that. After this album Tom Werman took over at the helm.

Wow! When was this? I don't think I ever remember anyone refusing to sell any album to anyone in Dublin based on their age! I guess you'd have to say pretty responsible, but then again, unless they knew the music, pretty judgemental too: how did he know that the cover reflected the music? And really, when you think about it, who was he to make such a call? No album in my day ever came with a "do not sell to minors" warning....

That woulda been a blessing, since I had some crazy ass bitches in the stable. Some of which I doubt are still among the living.

I already assumed that he meant he would have stolen them from the morgue, decades after the ass kickings.

It looks like Twisted Sister won't be caught here and have finally put paid to the Leppard and its spots, but how well will they do against the Crue.

Twisted Sister Stay Hungry 1984

Versus

Motley Crue Too Fast For Love 1981

Saying something positive about Crüe is a rarity, but they thrash Stay Hungry here. Best Crüe album.

Motley Crüe - 2
Twisted Sister - 1

The other albums were cool, but in the past few weeks I've rediscovered my love for Motley Crue and this album in particular. I seriously, seriously, love this album. It's one of the few that I can just listen to all day without getting bored. It's just the perfect combo of energy, great riffs, attitude, and power pop hooks. You've got the great pop metal of "Live Wire", "Piece of Your Action", and the title track, mixed with the two best power ballads in existence, "Starry Eyes" and "On with the Show". You've got Vince Neil's vocals, which are closer to Robin Zander of Cheap Trick (which makes sense since he quit a Cheap Trick cover band to join Motley Crue) than his trademark over the top sleaze singing, which is just the perfect fit for the turbo charged power pop of this album. I'm gonna stop now, cause I could go on about the things that I love about this album. So yeah, my vote definitely goes to the Crue.

Motley Crue - 3
Twisted Sister - 1
