Twisted Sister for me, I love that album. Twisted Sister was actually a pretty good rock n roll band. I blame MTV for making them a parody act, when I saw them live they were an amazing live act. Def Leppard - 1 Twisted Sister - 1 |

Da Leps for me too, if only for "Die hard the hunter". The only Leppard album I every got (apart from a vinyl copy of "Vault" which I still haven't listened to even once) and although I had the TS album (well, my brother did) and I liked it, it doesn't compare to the hooks and melodies on "Pyromania".
Yeah, plankton woulda kicked my ass too, but I would have stolen his girlfriend! :D:D:D:pimp::bringit: |
It's funny, I feel like the production style on each of these albums really says a lot about the two bands. Pyromania is crisp and clean and meticulously put together. Stay Hungry sounds like it was recorded inside a toilet bowl. I appreciate the slick, shiny pop of Def Leppard, but the low down punky shit of Twisted Sister is a lot more entertaining. Plus, "Burn in Hell" is one of the best hair metal songs ever so there's that. Voting Twisted.

Well guys, once again, not a fan of either band, but at least this time I don't completely hate one. Both albums are okayish for what they are, but as far as mediocrity goes, Twisted Sister is slightly less mediocre than Leppard, even at Leppard's "prime" on their first album. Point to Crue.

Def everytime.

This is a coincidence. 'Stay Hungry' was another of the first LPs I got (in my elementary schol years) - and it was from the same kid who I got 'Pyromania' from. I remember coming home with the album and my mom saying, "I don't even want to look at that. What is wrong with you?" which, of course, made me love it all the more.
I'm pretty sure that my friend was stealing records from his older sister and trading/selling them to me. She was about 5 years older than us and, although I had been hanging around their house since I was about 7, she never acknowledged my existence. She was the coolest girl I'd ever seen and she used to let us hang out in her room when she was getting ready to go out. She did speak to me once to tell me that 'Shout At The Devil' is the best album that was ever made when she noticed me checking out one of her many Motley Crue posters. But I digress. I remember liking 'Stay Hungry' so much that I almost automatically voted for it. But then I remembered how I used to think that I liked Ratt, so I gave the album a listen. I was right. To me, Stay Hungry kicks Pyromania's ass and takes its lunch money. Every day. Twisted Sister: 4 Def Leppard: 2 |
lemme relisten to both and give an informed choice
edit:- ok Def Leppard - this is the equivalent of some hot bimbo i managed to get - then i go back, whip it out and find myself flaccid, try to flog it but still no... i try a Swedish Penis Enhancer and still no.... the production is fluid, the tunes are there, it just doesn't rock out Twisted Sister - this is more like it - basic rock n roll with stripped-down production - has elements of the Glitter Band, NY Dolls, Black Sabbath, KISS - it slows down when it hits final few songs, only coming back with "SMF" but that's ok Stay Hungry - 5 Pyromania - 2 |
Gonna vote later, but I just need to mention that Trollheart forgot to update the vote when he voted. It should be:
Twisted Sister - 5 Def Leppard - 3 |
