Naked City win that round 4-1, next up is another contender from Japan as Japanese experimental band Boris team up with Merzbow and again the Boris with Merzbow album like the Kenji Haino album consists of just one track.
Naked City Leng Tch'e 1992
Vs Boris with Merzbow Sun Baked Snow Cave 2005

i already have that band
(ha ha ha) okies, heard Boris Boris/Merzbow - the first 10 minutes are completely boring, after that, it isn't very interesting either, about 35 minutes of white noise with sharp splinters of guitar chops, the last 15 minutes are good, but it comes too late Naked City - still a pretty interesting mix of sludge and free jazz Boris/Merzbow - 0 Naked City - 1

I went in and out of the The Boris/Merzbow track, some things really clicked with it, whilst others didn't. I didn't find it as cohesive and satifying as the Naked City album.
Boris/Merzbow -0 Naked City -2

Naked City to the top! Although it was nice to finally hear Merzbow... I'd been hearing different people talk about it. It's ... it's good. Naked City is something I'm already behind though. Leng Tch'e is fun for me.

I love both pieces a lot. The Boris and Merzbow piece is a bit lengthy, I think that it would work better as a piece of similar length to Leng Tch'e to be honest. There are a lot of brilliant ideas that could have been cut in half because at times there are some dreary moments that made me want to fast forward a bit (I mean, who has a fucking hour these days? for one song, too). The acoustic guitar bits over the muffled harsh noise was a great idea, but maybe not as a drone piece. When the heaviness comes in though, it blows you away, especially considering the mellow opening and it's a fantastic change of pace. This album could have been divided up into two or three songs to capture the different elements of the drone-metal group combined with a noise artist. Leng Tch'e is far better though, not to demote Sun Baked Snow Cave. I just find it very hard to top John Zorn and his collective of madmen. Yamatsuka Eye brings a lot of insanity to the song and sort of draws it away from being a drone piece at times, but that's fine with me. Joey Baron's blastbeats prove how talented of a drummer he is (if you liked the drums on this song, I'd suggest looking at his solo work and the stuff that he does with The Dreamers Masada) and is another fantastic and brutal element to the piece. And of course you have Bill Frisell and Fred Frith, who are (almost, in Frisell's case) always brilliant. So I'm going to vote for Naked City as opposed to Boris with Merzbow. The idea of an avant-prog guitarist, a Japanoise vocalist, a jazz guitarist and drummer, and John Zorn--who escapes the plague of having a definitive sound--making a collaboration in a droning matter is much more appealing than a Japanese drone band combining with a Japanoise artist and originator. Leng Tch'e is far more textured and has more conceptual and technically proficient. Naked City - 4 Boris with Merzbow - 0

I'm voting with everyone else on this one. I liked Sun Baked Snow Cave, especially the last 15 minutes which I found almost Earth-like, but Leng Tch'e is definitely the better album. It's more varied, has a better dynamic, and as Frownland pointed out, it doesn't overstay its welcome.

Naked City wrap that round up no problem with a straight 5-0 victory, next up they face Earth in the final confrontation and the Earth album is 3 songs over 73 minutes.
