yeah, you are right. proves how long it has been since thinking of that movie.
All I know is Crispin Glover should have been in them all.

I like Astro-Creep a lot, it has really good moments and combines metal and horror film (although I've just found out that they're fake) samples very well. It's a really fun album that I can listen to once in a while, but I couldn't listen to it as often as I listen to Angel Dust, which I find much more entertaining. It's not that hard of a vote for me, Angel Dust gets it here.
Angel Dust - 2 Astro-Creep - 7

For the record, I'm flip-flopping before the polls close officially. I slept on it one more night and changed my mind after re-listening to both. I was extremely critical when rating it in my library a few years ago, so I went into it just to listen to the songs I wasn't familiar with because I'd branded them skippable... and found I enjoy the **** out of these other songs. When I re-did my ratings, Angel Dust wins by a few strides.

Astro-Creep is that amazing. Glad to see FNM going down.
I mean granted I can live without hearing "More Human Than Human" ever again.... it is their most overplayed song. But if I compare it to the most overplayed FNM song.... yeah. White Zombie wins. "Epic" is god awful. Now I know it is not off the album in question, but whatever... still sucks. I personally would have replaced Faith No More with "Frizzle Fry" by Primus. Primus were always the better band.

I'm calling this and victory goes to White Zombie 6-3 in the final round.
Next up is this Drone Metal War suggested by Frownland (about 2 weeks behind schedule) Hopefully it should generate interest on here and I can run this war as fast or slow as you guys want Sun O))) Black One 2005 Versus Kenji Haino I Said, This is the Son of Nihilism 1995

not in a long time. i have heard bits... but as I say, I always thought they were pretty overrated. Angel Dust may be a masterpiece to some, but to me it is just alright at best. Does little for me. I like some songs here and there, but overall I find them rather boring.

I must say, BoY, that I flip-flopped changed my vote because I had cast my vote based on not listening to either album in at least a year or two. I relistened to Angel Dust, and then Zombie's, and then Angel Dust again. Let's just say... I'm still listening to Angel Dust today. And.... I have a bunch of new songs I really like that are on an album I thought I knew well. It seems I had blacklisted a bunch of songs on a first listen and never actually HEARD them. So... you know, actually re-listening to the albums when the wars/clubs are happening is important. We're not all perfect, but things change... if its been more than a year since you've heard it, try it again. Even now that the vote is over. Where I would have wrote off Angel Dust as having 4 or so great tracks a year ago or even last week, now I know its an amazing album throughout.
Whats also funny is Land of Sunshine I've played ... 30+ times, Easy ~10, Be Aggressive ~10, Midlife Crisis ~ 7, and all the rest were at 1 or 0 listens. That's how I knew I needed to go through and re-rate. Same with Zombie, although in the end, Angel Dust really became the easy champ. It's ok that FNM ended up losing, I gained something great from participating in this war. And it was right under my nose. |
