It really is something special, when I first listened to it a few years ago it wasn't what I expected, but I knew I'd just listened to something very special, what's sad is that this band only put out two studio albums, they really could've been metal greats with the talent they had.

^^i can empathise with Mondo Bungle there
both equally good albums, but i think Acid Bath has the slight edge, tunes-wise and sheer driving power, the only thing i dislike about it is the over-distorted vocals on some tracks and the truly generic "god machine" Acid Bath - 4 Neurosis - 1 |

I guess I've always found Neurosis to be overrated, but I think Acid Bath wins here by a long shot. Love the vocals, love the riffs, love the variety. The John Wayne Gacy album cover is kind of funny as well

Acid Bath surprisingly have won that face-off by a convincing 5-1 victory, Next up they face the Melvins, often regarded by many as THE SLUDGE METAL BAND, but will this Melvin's album be good enough to defeat Acid Bath, as its not one of their most popular albums.

WTKSP has too many good riffs, and the vocals are much better. There is much more variety, yet the album never derails. Honestly I think the vocals on Bullhead sound like a poor man's version of the vocals on some of the more recent Mastodon albums. They just aren't quality (release date and production aren't much of an excuse, as evidenced by WTKSP). WTKSP really hit the mark with this debut, which I actually enjoy more than there second release (which still is better than anything the Melvins have put out IMO). Too much talent in that band...too bad they only have two albums to show for it.

Yeah. Have been absent in this thread.
Have to agree with Bongo. As a whole Melvins are the better band, "Lysol" and "Houdini" are both amazing albums... but Acid Bath is the better band. Melvins may have more albums, and as a result more "hits"... but WTKSP blows them out of the water individually. "Scream of the Butterfly" and "Bones of Baby Dolls" are 2 of my favorite songs of all-time, throw in "Jezebel" somewhere in there as well and it just trumps Melvins for me. Acid Bath - 3 Melvins - 0
