This thread is awesome. I own most of the albums listed here. Glad someone is keeping the spirit of NWOBHM alive

Actually discovered most of these bands through my late uncle. Who had all these Lp's and 45's of obscure music dating back to this style and old blues. Really influenced me as teenager in late 80's

I have a somewhat similar uncle, but the most obscure **** he had was Triumph. Other than that it was just a bunch of Maiden, Priest, and Queensryche. Still, pretty epic though.

i got into NWOBHM mostly through Sounds - English music press

and that's only retrospectively - NME were dissing them in the 80s for championing it, so I went and bought some old issues to see what the fuss was all about

i enjoyed what i heard from that scene that time (which was rather limited as they didn't bring many of them releases into these parts)

When I first got into music Sounds, NME and Melody maker were the three weekly music rags that used to come out every Friday. Sounds I thought was easily the best as it used to say good stuff about the bands I was into.

I read NME the most, cos it was the most regular here

the other two had sporadic distribution here

I've just discovered this band, they were on my list and from the name thought they were just some type of proto-extreme metal band BUT NO this is a hidden gem of the NWOBHM, can't believe I'd never heard of these guys before. I then read that they were very similiar to Diamond Head and in terms of quality their first album is almost as good as the Diamond Head and Iron Maiden debuts...........I kid you not.

Diamond Head would've been proud of this song.

Holocaust Death Or Glory - YouTube

These guys know how to do Sabbath as well.
