Dax Riggs.

Not only was he in the great sludge classic Acid Bath, Dax has an amazing solo Career and Two other indie bands Agents of Oblivion, and Deadboy and The Elephant man.

Not only a very talented vocalist, but songwriter as well.
Has anyone heard of him?

Short answer: Yes

No offense but you're stealing my thunder right now because I've half-assedly been planning to make thread devoted to critically reviewing Dax's bands' albums and I haven't gotten around to it yet because I'm a lazy fuck.

A part of me (okay all of me) hopes that you're a spammer who's posts will be deleted so I can make a thread about him without your help (oh yeah, I'm an egomaniac as well as a depressed fool - I meant to mention that earlier). But the answer to your question is yes I've heard of Dax Riggs. Others here have too. I already fantasize about death and evil all the time and Dax verbalizes those thoughts lyrically and musically far better than I can. Currently, I love his music more than life itself. Literally.

Ah well, such is life.:)

I love Acid Bath and I REALLY love his solo album 'We Sing of Only Blood or Love' and the latest one is good too.

I've only scratched the surface of Deadboy & the Elephantmen and I'm grateful that I have more unexplored stuff to hear.
I'm not sure what's my favorite. Different albums for different moods I guess. What's your favorite?

Paegen Terrorism Tactics, That is my personal favorite album. Jezebel is my favorite song.

What a nice surprise to stumble upon having not been on here in awhile. Fourteen and hormonal as all hell, I was swooned by the voice of Dax Riggs. My favorite album by Acid Bath was always When the Kite String Pops. "Scream of the Butterfly" was the very first song I heard by them and I was sold! For ages, I had "deaddreamer" as an AOL screen name. Paegan Terrorist Tactics is quite the album, too. After realizing how much more music my sixteen year old brain had to experiment with, I kind of left Acid Bath behind me. Coincidentally, I walked into a good friend's apartment one day at the age of 19 and heard Dax's voice. I hadn't heard this song before and that's when I was introduced to Deadboy and Elephant Man. I've never heard of Agents of Oblivion, but I think it was because the same friend overplayed D&EM and I just lost interest. I'll find it today!

I find it strange that Dax hasn't achieved more success and notoriety over his career. Acid Bath is a classic band and Deadboy should have a sort of mass appeal to them as the White Stripes already paved the way for two-man(or lady) groups to play simple, yet satisfying rock. I live in Dax's homestate of Indiana and you'd be hard pressed to find someone who's heard of him outside of his hometown of Evansville. It's pretty pathetic.

That saddens me. Had it not been for talking to strange people on the internet, I would have never found Acid Bath.

You've also go to take into consideration that he has a very distinct voice and though some deem it beautiful, others may not dig it. We are creatures of habit. Anything remotely different isn't accepted widely until some sort of "higher-ups" recognize them first.

However, I agree with you on Deadboy. Lyrics were amazing and Acid Bath will always echo in Riggs' voice, but that **** was so catchy! Some people just don't get it - at least Henry Rollins did.

EDIT: and goddamnit they are so much hotter than Meg and Jack.
