^ Lovely...Murphy does get around, doesn't he? As far as Eastern Euro bands (Polish to be exact), Decapitated is pretty awesome. They started of as a death metal version of Def Leppard, not that they were poppy, rather they began as 12 and 13 year old whiz kids and later experienced a car wreck involving their drummer. Unfortunately, the drummer, Witek Kieltyka died later in a Russian hospital. His brother and guitarist recently reformed the band, and they're still incredible. They're worth checking out if you're into Behemoth or Vader.

Decapitated is not in my top 10 or anything, but they have one album I really enjoy

I'd put them in the top three for Poland. They pretty good though. Sounds like Meshugghah dropping the odd-timing and playing everything fast-forward.

Speaking of Poland, I mentioned Behemoth on the previous page but no one responded. Any fans here? |

I can not think of any more than 3... Vader, Decapitated and Behemoth. As to the question.. I have only heard one album by Behemoth http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zos_Kia...re_and_Beyond) Only one I know, do not know enough beyond this one to base an opinion of them on. I like that album for what it is. Interesting listen.

Behemoth are subpar. Their early work was a poor copy of what was occuring in Scandinavia (although "Wolves Guard my Coffin" is a brilliant track); I got "Zos Kia Cultus" & "Satanica" later, and both albums were boring. Like on the track "No Sympathy for Fools" - powerful crescendo and all, they do the start/stop poorly, and they throw too many elements into it, so there's no single unifying element or drive.
Call me a boor, but I don't like to have to wait a minute or two for a death metal song to become interesting. "Wolves Guard my Coffin"; Behemoth's best track.

Damn, that's a good song. I always veered away from Behemoths black metal period, but I'm going to investigate it. I concur sometimes their tech death metal gets a little dense, but they really excel when they slow down and do atmospheric blacken death metal tunes. I agree with Janz...Inferno is a great DM drummer. Sorry about the long intro.

I've only heard a little Behemoth, but they sound pretty sweet. I'm mainly responding to this because Behemoth were the first band I ever crowd surfed to. So, even if I didn't like them, they'd still have a piece of my heart.
