I agree she has an exceptional voice, but she's not really a rock vocalist.

Can't say that I know a lot of good female rock vocalists, so I'll have to go with Stevie Nicks.

I`m surprised nobody has mentioned them either, considering "Dreamboat Annie" often gets mentioned in various greatest hard rock album lists.

I always associate the Wilson sisters as being with "Heart" more so than as solo artist. That could be one reason they've not (until now) been mentioned. One of the best female rock band no doubt. And vocalist if so desired.

My vote is still for Patty Smyth & Annie Lennox.

I cannot put Annie Lennox down as a rock vocalist and neither can I put Kate Bush down either. Nothing to do with their vocals at all but it's a whole different kettle of fish really and they are much more subtle and not genre specific.

Not familiar with one of the greatest artist/vocalists ever to walk the earth? Shame on you! Modern female singer songwriters wouldn't exist without Kate Bush. Sure you would still have great vocalists but she represented the whole package (and still does) for a complete package- vocals, writing, lyrics, album art and instrumentation.

I will add Patti Smith to that paragraph too.

She is in her 50's now and still is ****ing gorgeous.

Not familiar with Kate Bush, but I agree with you concerning Annie Lennox hammer. Eurythmics are a British pop rock band, but you know how threads seem to stray from the original subject sometimes.
