The problem I have with Black Metal is it tends to sound very redundant. I've gone through a lot of the recs here and it feels like I'm listening to the same song slapped with a different title and band name. Got pretty bored after the 3rd hearing or so. Then again I gave up on the genre pretty quickly years ago...

Of course it's redundant; it's a subgenre of a subgenre. The appeal lies in the nuance.
