I think Cannibal Corpse gets a bad rap because they committed the sin of becoming commercially successful... as far as death metal goes.

Personally one of the few death metal bands I can enjoy largely because they wrote a lot of their songs on musical friendly scales.

I just realized today that 'Gallery of Suicide' (song, not album) is masterpiece.
