Love it. I must have played it a dozen times over. I even like the one with Fergie, and I'm not really a fan of anything else she's done. Hell even her commercials (was it Dr. Pepper?) annoy me. But Beautiful Dangerous just rocks. And even though I love Alter Bridge, Myles Kennedy seems a perfect fit with Slash. Apparently Slash agrees.
There's even a 5 track itunes studio edition album thing out there...really just a couple of the Myles Kennedy songs from the album rehashed, plus a couple VR and GNR songs, and in my opinion a great cover of Zepp's Communication Breakdown (I'm sure many will not agree, but I don't really care). Greatest album ever! Ok, that's going a bit far...I'll just say it rocks. |

Maybe you have not heard of a little band called Guns and Roses, and a small album called Appetite for Destruction?

Eh... it's okay.
Slash's work with Guns 'N Roses is literally some of my favorite guitar work of all time. Appetite and the Second Illusion anyways. Ditto for Velvet Revolver. I picked up guitar because of Slash, but his solo album could've been so much better. It was nothing more than "decent" for a majority of the tracks. It's not just him that was whack. I expected a little more out of a lot of the singers and backing musicians on the album. Even when I saw him live, something I dreamed of for years, he just didn't have the star power you would expect. There was really only one track in my opinion that can even hold a candlelight to the great Guns 'N Roses and VR songs, and that's Back to Cali. Actually, the Myles Kennedy songs were the best on the album. I know he's doing an entire album with Myles Kennedy. THAT I will buy because together they have real chemistry, and I think one of the big flaws in this current album is his lack of continuity. If it's the same band throughout the entire album, that's not really an issue. Plus, his latest feature turned a mediocre song into a legit one. He might very well be back. |
