Don't you love it when you put on an album you haven't listened to for a while, and you suddenly remember why you love it? I've been binging on Barbatos & Midnight, and I was looking for some more punk/metal... then I remembered, Repulsion.
I think it's pretty rad they refuse to put out a new album.

Honestly, I think metal has already hit it's high water mark. Metal bands became as ****ed up, fast, heavy, etc as they possibly could in the nineties with grindcore, black metal, and death metal and now metal bands for the most part are just desperately trying to find new ways to make old hat sound interesting. There are a few bands with legitimately good ideas, maybe even a few new sub-genre movements, but not enough to build an actual creatively vibrant metal movement the likes of old. The glory days are over.

Hmm. I'll have to check this early, early Napalm Death out.
Are you a fan of Death's early demos, Mondo? It's really hit or miss, but it's more aggressive. When listening to this, I can tell why early Repulsion & Death thought it'd be a good idea to team up. This wouldn't sound all together out of place on "Horrified".

Yeah, the demo I posted was Mantas era if I recall correctly. I just call all Mantas era demos... Death. For the sake of simplicity, really.
Actually, before I moved to Montana, I had a two cd collection of bootleg CDs of Death/Mantas demos and rehearsals from "Devil Metal" recordings. It had a quote from Kam Lee in the insert, but I dunno if he was involved in the release. Either way, yeah, I really love that early ****. But when you get down to it, really, the proto-extreme metal sound is probably my favorite at the moment. Whether it be death, grind, or black metal.... I love it. Master's Unreleased 1985 Album is amazing. With some variation in what songs are included and how those songs are played, this album was released several times - as Deathstrike, The Speckmann Project, etc.... all of them are fun, and it's a great study in how the sound of extreme metal evolved.
