Without doubt the best European thrash metal band (unless I`ve forgotten somebody else). Their sound ranks up there, with the other classic thrash acts and their incoporation of groove, industrial and gothic metal was a success as well.
Their three best albums: Coma of Souls Cause for Conflict Outcast |

Great band, although I wouldnt put them as the best European thrash band. I'd not even have them as number 1 in Germany (that honour goes to Sodom for me). I dont particularly like their experimental albums in the middle of their career, the move away from the more aggressive thrash sound that they were famous for was a bad idea.
And I also voted for Pleasure To Kill |

I never really got into thrash outside of Slayer and a handfull of other bands. I recognize their importance, understand the music, but it just never captivated me. The only album I have by them is "Pleasure to Kill", but most everyone says that's the album to get.

I haven't listened to Kreator for a long time but I remember thinking that they were the one European band that rivaled American thrash in spirit at least (I'm not an expert). Powerful band. I also remember really liking their Extreme Aggression album.

Technically, they're from Switzerland so they may have a little mixed blood, hahaha. They did possess a great shredder, possibly the best of all Euro thrash bands. |

Pleasure to Kill would get my vote, one of the best thrash albums of all-time.
But for German thrash, I tend to prefer Sodom and Destruction.
