From what I've read, I believe he (the singer) is also a Columbia University graduate who recently earned some sort of secondary degree in composition and pals around with the singer from Vampire Weekend as the two are fellow alumni. Just screams hipster to me haha

Well, the new album leaked and it's straight-up bonkers. Still sounds like Liturgy but they've replaced the black metal screams with HHH's borderline-ritual chant singing. There's some weird electronic and hip-hop influences scattered throughout too, especially on this first single:

I heard that single and thought it really blew. I still like the first two albums though. I feel like a good portion of their hate is due to non-musical things, like:

But that's bound to be the case with a lot of bands. I think they've got cool music and don't care about your transcendence.

I don't even know what their whole manifesto thing is about, but their music is dull as hell.

The single was pretty lame, but I'm indifferent towards the Ark Work. It seemed like 80% intro to me. It wasn't anything terrible but I'm seeing a lot of people making it out to be incredible and I personally found it fairly weak. "Reign Array" however is awesome, and the only one I see myself replaying on it's own. Might give the whole album another go though, one listen gave me the impression that it's a grower.
