Immortal
I just saw this Norwegian Black Metal band recently and searched for a thread but found none. This band is often credited with contributing heavily to the start of corpse paint and black metal itself. Just seein if there are any other fans here on the banter, or if not of Immortal then perhaps some other similar black metal type bands.

Very fast, Bathory inspired thrashy BM, just the way I like it. They get their atmospheric melodies the old fashioned way of strumming tremolo riffs one-thousand times a second, lol. No keyboard sustained notes for these boys. "Holocaust", "Heart of Winter ", "Northern Darkness" are all essential Immortal albums.

Definitely one of my favorite black metal bands. Sons of Northern Darkness is my favorite albums of theirs and features that thrashy bm sound all so well. Their outfits are pretty ridiculous, as are their pictures and videos. I'm sure they are aware of this though and don't take it too seriously and try to have fun with it. Also, they are one of the few Norwegian black metal bands that have lyrics about things other than satan and burning churches.
