Yeah, it's kind of a surprise gig. So only one ticket per person at the door. I was there at 5.45pm and sales started at 6pm. I got my ticket at 8.15pm!

They attachted a wrist band that you have to show tonight with your ticket. I'm really excited to check them out.

Turned out that there was no queue anymore at 8.45pm and they still have tickets this morning. That's really hilarious but I don't care. I'm sure it's all worth it. If I'm lucky and all the rumours are right I get to see them again this weekend on the Lowlands festival.
Man, I'm one lucky bastard I guess...

Thanks man! And it was even better than I expected. Best gig in ages maybe ever that I've seen. Great musicians and great songs. Big fat grooves, great riffs and fills, tempo changes, nice bridges, killer hooks it was all there. And these guys were rocking and having so much fun.

Dave Grohl is just an amazing drummer. Very relaxed and powerful. Great sound, very tight, sometimes swinging, sometimes grooving, then some great chops and rolling fills. My head was spinning from all of this. Together with John Paul Jones and Alain Johannes this is a killer rythm section. And Josh Homme was the charismatic frontman. Very relaxed, cracking jokes, doing a silly dance and playing the guitar in his familiar way.

They played a highly energetic set for 80 minutes with some songs lasting over 10 minutes.

This was worth the 2,5 hours in line without a doubt. If you get a chance to see them go for it! Very curious about the album but I'm pretty sure it will be a classic.

TCV has their own thread, that's way I started it. So people wouldn't be clogging up the QOTSA thread with posts that aren't even about the same band. Please post all further Vultures post there. Also, if a mod wants to be really cool, they could merge the last few post with the TCV thread it would be great.

p.s. I'm glad you enjoyed the show.

It's really good stuff too. When I first listened to it I didn't realize I had the deluxe edition. A lot of what I liked was the extra songs and I felt they equaled the quality as many of the A-sides from the album...

Queens of the Stone Age are pretty awesome. One of my favorite bands. Rated R is a masterpiece.

It's good stuff! I just enjoy kicking back and listening to their stuff... it's perfect forwhen I am not feeling the whole dark metal intensity vibe that I often feel lately...
