Katey Lied
Ive seen a lot of positive comments concerning Countdown To Ecstasy. It is OK, but I see it as one of their weakest albums when its compared to You Cant Buy A Thrill and some of their others, Basically Countdown sounds and resembles the debut album (Thrill) a lot and Countdown doesn't contain half as good the material, as their debut does. Dont take me wrong, I like Countdown too, it just seems more rock orientated than most of their later material. The guitar is very heavy fuzz/distorted using basically the same dynamics as on You Cant Buy A Thrill, (which is not necessarily a bad thing). Your Gold Teeth & Pearl Of The Quarter are my favorite singles from the (Countdown) album.
The album I have been listening to lately is Katey Lied and its worth finding the time to listen to it, an absolutely great album in my opinion. With singles like Dr. Wu, Your Gold Teeth II, Any World (That I'm Welcome To), and my favorite "Throw Back The Little Ones". |

Nobody thinks "Hey, Nineteen" is one of the band's best? I only know a few of the band's songs, and that is the only one I like - clever lyrics and, um, I guess I like the more modern production.
By the way, I have the Against All Odds soundtrack and never know who the Larry Carlton on it is until now. |
