But it seems as if there's a lack of bands like this. You might like the levellers, but it's not really the same

Primordial is a grungy, folk metal band from Ireland. Not only do the sound great, but they're songs are about Irish history and folklore.

Love The Pogues and Dropkick Murphys and agree that the Levellers and Flogging Molly are good as well.
I would add Black47 to the mix, particularly the Fire of Freedom album.
