In the mail today came my "Divinations" picture disc 12". The thing cost me 15 bucks, which feels somewhat silly considering it's only "Divinations" on the A-side and the instrumental version on the B-side, but the disc is way too cool to pass up.

Dude, sick! I've been eyeballing the double album edition of Blood Mountain myself; it's 45 dollars i think, but apparently its been recorded to play exactly how they wanted it to sound at a certain BPM.

Thoughts on the new album?

I find it to be a sort of midway between the sludgy modern metal leanings of Blood Mountain and the sweeping progressive movements of Crack the Skye which is awesome. I also noticed that the new producer kind of gave their sound the In Flames treatment in that the songs are shorter and more often than not have some sort of epic chorus/hook.

The Hunter is a pretty good album, though. It's just scary how close they've come to ridding themselves of the sludge...
