We all have our opinions - some better than others. :P

Actually, there new stuff is quite a change from the rest of their music. I dig it, but I miss the heaviness. It's definitely worth checkin' out, though. Antonio posted a good review on it recently: Mastodon - Crack the Skye

Good. That's what I thought you meant. Thought I was going to have to bring Howie into the picture again.

Hinds is the main vocalist though. You can know this because he has a very distinctive voice, which is dominant on virtually all their songs.

I don't know if I'd label him as the main vocalist just because Hinds and Sanders voice mesh SO well together. Both have unique singing voices, but together, they complement each other so well. I don't know if I'd listen to them if they changed up the vocals. I know they used to have a regular front man (Eric Saner?), and I'm glad they don't anymore because I seem to get annoyed with the front man of the band. Yeah, the voice can be an instrument on its own, but to sing and shred? I'd say they're better off. Hinds does have some insane solos, though. At the same time, I find myself partial to Sanders because he adds a lot of the heavier elements to the songs.
