The thread is asking "What is the worst metal band ever?" This means, that people that are familiar with metal can voice an opinion on this!!!
Its not asking "What is the worst music genre ever?" Something, you seem to have got confused with. |

I had to deal with it when I first came here years ago but it was much more worse than it is now. You have it pretty easy actually. Just ignore their opinions of your taste in music. I don't even get why people like to judge others for their taste in music. I don't praise or put down anyone for what they like to listen to. WHO the hell am I to go around putting down someone for something THEY like to listen to even though I don't. Music taste as a whole is bullshit. Listen to whatever sounds good to your ears if you feel like metal sucks then metal sucks. I used to feel the same way but I opened up my mind to it a bit and I found some metal bands that I like but there are still some metal bands I refuse to listen to. I can't really stand grunting and screaming so the more melodic the better.

Being an elitist has nothing to do with this debate, showing some common sense before typing though..... is the actual message that is being relayed across to our virginal friend! |

As for Fates Warning, I`ve always liked them a lot, especially when Ray Alder took over on vocals but I`ll agree they got more technical as time went by, seemingly just for the sake of being technical. Fates Warning share the same musical territory as Dream Theater, less melodic than DT but certainly more spontaneous sounding. |
