As I think I've said before in this thread, I think their name is a hilarious play on words that seems indicative of a band that doesn't take themselves too seriously. It's hard for me to imagine a band with such a good sense of humor could be all bad. Plus they're just a side project for one of the guys from Pinback aren't they?

Actually it would seem these guys are serious. They wear trenchcoats in their music video(situated on a beach) and the singer is so bad it hurts.

and I'm not sure about pinback, but their name (as to not be confused with many other four letter swear words) is goblin cawk

I had no idea that trenchcoats meant a band were serious.

But you do understand that "Goblin Cock" is a tongue-in-cheek play on words right (gobbling cock)? Combine that with the fact that the band is a side project from a member of a well-known indie rock band and add some clearly humorous song titles (i.e. "The Revenge of Snufalufagus") and I think it's pretty obvious that the band doesn't take themselves seriously at all.

I actually downloaded one of their albums, Bagged and Boarded, as a result of this conversation. It seems decent so far. Sounds like a bit like a poppy version of the Melvins.

Black Metal in general annoys me, I just can't enjoy that genre.
