There's that old friend of ours in the metal scene, the good ol' "core"
vikingcore piratecore fusion of speed and slowcore mixed together with a touch of soft and hardcore, with a pinch of grindcore to even it out, to the core.

I'm gonna throw my hat in the ring for manowar being the worst metal band of all time.
And no, thats not solely image based. I downloaded their entire discography for a laugh because I found the concept funny for a while, but it lost its charm fantastically fast. Oh, and I think you're referring to the good ol 'Fill-in-the-blank-Core' trend. ---------------- Now playing on Winamp: Radiohead - Creep [Acoustic] via FoxyTunes

I knew I'd avoided this thread for a reason. Are people seriously putting Metallica, Megadeth and Slayer on their lists? It's easy to name bands you think are over rated or bands you dont like but there is no way any of those bands are the absolute worst metal band ever. Come on, think about it ffs.
Slipknot were mentioned. You know, I have always hated Slipknot. Really, really hated them. I saw them twice at festivals because they were there and I had nothing better to do at the time and didnt change my opinion. However I saw them last year indoors and although I was far from blown away I have to say I quite enjoyed it. I almost feel dirty for saying that. *Shivers* |

If nu-metal counts as metal than Rage Against The Machine and KoRn are by far the worst metal bands. If not than probably some random generic black metal band. Satanic Warmaster come to mind. |

If Linkin Park counts then them.
If not then Limp Bizkit.

I'm sensing a concencus that Limp Bizkit would have to go down as one of the worst metal bands in history... common sense, sometimes, has to prevail...

I'd most definitely take any black metal (i actually kinda love anything of that nature) over something crude and irritating like Limp Bizkit...
