They influenced it thats it they're more like hard/sludge/doom rock.Either one hardly metal though.

Well, doom rock is a loose term, but its not really a definable genre like metal is, sure Black Sabbath may not be as heavy or technicaly gifted as todays metal bands, but every metal band has credited Sabbath as one of their primary influences, weither directly or indirectly...Many of metals best known themes began with Sabbath... The dark, gothic and rebelious lyrics, the extreamly loud and agressive melodys, the ass kicking guitar riffs and solos with the trademark drop D tunings, you name it.

Influenced doesn't mean they are.
The ramones influenced tons of early hardcore bands would you call them hardcore?
