I consider them "dude" rock. Simplistic, easy to understand, and repetitive.

**** the Hall of Fame. It's just a money grab. They inducted Grandmaster Flash. Come on! I have nothing against Grandmaster Flash, but what the hell does he have to do with rock?!

Linkin Park are an awful band and a disgrace to rock and metal.

I think Nickelback is a possible future choice but all there songs have sounded the same from the begining (How You Remind me & Someday were the first) and most of them have the same meaning. And ok maybe they arn't the most talented recently but Linkin Park and Nine Inch Nails defined synth rock so personally I think they'd deserve it.

Linkin Park and Nine Inch Nails defined synth-rock? But what about all those bands in the 70's and 60's that integrated synths into their sound?

Look into Sun Ra, Residents, Bruce Haack, and Kraftwork.

Albeit not all rock(Sun Ra, for example) they are pretty much four excellent examples of synth-based music being explored extensively long before even Trent Reznor who is somehow given massive amounts of credit for inventing a genre that was already well well established before he came along.

As for Linkin Park they really are not even remotely inventive.

Terence Hill, as recently confirmed during an interview to an Italian TV talk-show, was offered the role but rejected it because he considered it "too violent". Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta declined the role for the same reason. When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.
