No, I would like fellow posters to tell what they feel is the best Dream Theater album. I'm in a generious mood and am willing to give bands a sixth chance.

You should know by now that no one gives a crap about this band, except Don.

Plus they are already talked about a lot on this forum.

Dream Theater is all math and no heart. While they are great musicians, their just out there progressing music as a science and not as an art. If you don't do both, you'll never be the greatest band ever.

Also, there has been a rash of newbies (sub 5 post count) that have been dropping in just to push an ageda, we must be advertising somewhere.
My random number generator has picked you, so be it.

So what you're saying, more or less, is that it's impossible for a band to be insanely technical, and then to also have tracks where they display their technical brilliance in contrast with brilliant compositions? Such an ignorant statement.

I'm guessing you're one of those “I listened to a few DT tracks and all they do is wank” people. In fact, half of DT's catalogue doesn't consist of wanking. So saying DT is all wank is a hideously incorrect statement (I refer you to when you said “all”). But you obliviously know this, so this brings me to my main point.

Saying DT has no heart and seeming as though you're speaking on everyone's behalf is an extremely foolish thing to say. Are you saying that the only people who like DT are musicians who appreciate their talent? You can't make a general statement about the band just because you don't feel any emotional connection with any of the tracks that you have heard. Have you even seen them perform live? It's not hard to see that even after countless performances, DT have a passion for their music.

I keep quoting the same link, but I think it's the best example of what I'm trying to say – it blends technical insanity with pure beauty. And if you don't feel anything from watching this clip, no one cares, because I can assure you that millions do:
