Default Biffy Clyro

I had never, ever heard of this band until I saw them support Muse last night. They're a Scottish rock band, and while some of their songs may have sounded a little generic/mainstreamy, some were really great and they put on an awesome live show. Anyone else heard of them?

Yeah, I heard some really good songs last night but I don't know what they're called so I'll have to keep looking.

I only have their last record it is very generic, very poppy, very commercial, not exactly oozing intelligence and some of the lyrics are absolutely awful. However I have played it a lot and for some reason enjoy it. Maybe that makes it a "guilty pleasure"?

I used to be a really big fan of them, and i've even managed to see them live twice, but i was kind of put off a bit by their last two albums Puzzle and Only Revolutions. Their first 3 albums are really good, especially Infinity Land and it's the album i always stick on if i'm in the mood for some Biffy Clyro. Their early stuff just had that raw emotion to it which has been lost somewhat with the more commercial sheen of their last two albums, although they are not bad albums as such, they just don't compare to their first 3.

The first time i saw them live was at a festival in 2005 and they were really amazing. They had a pretty hardcore fanbase back then so the crowd was really awesome. I saw them again at the same festival in 2007 on a bigger stage and they were still really great, although there was a different type of crowd this time as they became pretty popular after releasing Puzzle.

I have a lot of memories attached to this band, i used to listen to the song '27' over and over again when i broke up with one of my exes a few years ago. It's a really great song

Ahh yes, I really love this song! Thanks for sharing... that's the problem seeing a band live and then getting into them, you're not sure of what songs you heard! I think I'm gonna have to check out their discography, but the sounds of it it seems like their older stuff might be a good start...
