Default The Damned Things

I was just wondering if anyone has heard of this new "super group." It features members of Every Time I Die, Fall Out Boy, and Anthrax. Their debut album Ironiclast will be coming out in a couple of days and I'm quite interested in seeing how it turns out. Supposedly it is gonna be a hard rock album and will draw heavily on blues and classic rock.

Their first single "We've Got a Situation" was released earlier this year and it sounds pretty decent imo. Riff-oriented with a hook-laden chorus, some solid vocals and a short guitar solo. It even has some harsh vocals during the bridge which I thought was a nice touch.

So what's your take on this new band and do you think it is a successful combination of such diverse origins as poppy FOB, metalcore ETID, and thrashy Anthrax?

I dig this band because they don't sound like either Fall Out Boy or Anthrax, more like a more commercial, hook-focused version of Every Time I Die. I haven't heard the album but the single is solid.

Better than anything Anthrax has done in quite a while, nothing spectacular but solid modern catchy hard rock, I approve.
