what do you like about metal
 

hey, yah, just tell me what you like about metal, i like metal cuz it....well, motivates me or something, its like, so cool, i wanna learn how to play the drums someday, and the guitar. speicially when im angry, i just crank up the volume and kick back, and ignore everything around me except the music.

what i like about metal is that...its an all around kind of music.......angry,upset, or just ****in around.....and when i have a hockey game ill bring my cd player and listen to some Lamb of God to get me motovatied and hyper

I don't have to have a reason for liking metal. It goes without saying.

I love it, i love the guitar, lyrics, vocals, drums, everything. I do the same thing, when im angry, jsut crank up the stereo, kick back nd relax nd ignore the world nd all my problems, i really dnt no wat id do without music, metal is the best!!!

The best is gotta be the rolling drums. Cannibal Corpse is awesome for that. But the best drumming I've heard so far is definitley Morbid Angel - Drum Check. Vocals vary, it all depends on who it is. I don't really like the low pitch growling but the high pitched growling is good. Agony Scene I think has good vocals. Sometimes, tho, i like to be able to understand what they're singing, then you have to pick doom metal. November's Doom and My Dying Bride are awesome doom. Its sometimes kind of depressing, My Dying Bride is freaking slow and gothic, its great. I have only started listening to metal about 2 months ago, but it clearly kicks ass. I guess I can't really call myself all that much of a metal fan, but I do like some of it for alot of the same reasons you guys do: gets me hyped up before a game. But I can't stand most nu metal. Everynow and then there is some ok nu metal, but jeez that stuff annoys me as much as screamo.

It's a sub-genre of Heavy Metal. It typically combines aggressive, hip hop influenced, angsty vocals, pointless screaming, samples, rap-style beats and drum set patterns.

i like metal because it doesn't always follow how songs usually go like intrio verse 1 chorus verse 2 chorus some different breakdown chorus then outro , alot of metal bands just play all the way through with just so many different riffs thrown into one song like it's 10 different songs in one song. plus metal is just awesome.

i like old metal and black label society new metal has no meaning all they do is scream crap like kill your mother and put the distortion all the way up and play power cords

ooo, i c, i like some slipknot, but not a lot, there kinda boring, not really much talent there, although, Wait nd Bleed and Duality are to good songs.

I like metal cause the songs have meaning compared to that rap-hip hop sh!t thats always on the radio...the songs are always about...Girls,Cars and cash, shich is stupid. When you put a metal record on it's gonna make you feal better it's not going to shout at you and tell you what to do. I like metal mainly for the lyrics ( i also love how hard the music is and the vibe you get from it ata gig/ in a mosh). Thats why i listen to Slipknot a lot. Marilyn Manson and Korn are also 2 of my favorites. I enjoy the heavy guitar sound with drums. Some bands I like cause of lyrics some bands I liike cause they are heavy...eg. Dimmu Borgir.

You have a very limited view of hip hop , and I should point out that during the 80s most metal bands sung about those very subjects

I'm willing to bet that metal bands nowadays are more technical than ones of the past. And I can't speak for all metal bands but the overwhelming vast majority of lyrics aren't about killing your mother or any related subject.

it is expressing the message of the song sooo good; thats why i ****ing like it!

not a lot to be honest.i d o like bits and bobs from the metal genre (with its many sub genres) and you cannot beat a raucous metal classic at a party.

heavy metal for me means well i love it because of the lyrics no matter how hardcore the song is the only thing that matters is the words/lyrics....they have so many significants...
