With most people having it in for Anthrax on this forum, it would be interesting to know just how many people know about this gem of an album by Stormtroopers of Death, which was a side project for a couple of the Anthrax members.

^I love that album! The riff to "March of the SOD" is just about the coolest thing any band has ever done ever. Proved that Scott Ian could actually make riffs I cared about.

The coolest thing about the album is that it largely came about by accident. Anthrax had just finished recording Spreading the Disease and with some studio recording time left over, SOD decided to record this album.......needless to say its a far better album than the Anthrax one.

I like the fact that SOD had all the members that made Anthrax awesome (Charlie Benante and Scott Ian) brought back a superior member (Danny Lilker. I mean, I don't know jack about their actual bassist, but who cares?) and replaced a cheesy, hairband singer with Billy Milano (Billy Milano being a sufficient identifier for awesomeness).

You`ve more or less summed up one of the main problems with Anthrax and that was vocalist Joey Belladonna and sure he had a great voice, but he was much better suited to a hair metal or even an AOR act, what Anthrax needed was a thrash/extreme metal vocalist and Billy Milano fitted that bill. Had Billy Milano been in Anthrax, then they would probably be getting a lot more than the 7 votes they have on here at the moment.

The bassist by the way was Frank Bello, who hardly ever gets mentioned...... sums it up well really.

I like Frank Bello, I think Anthrax would be really lacking something without his bass sound.

This album is a ****ing work of art... just saying.

Terence Hill, as recently confirmed during an interview to an Italian TV talk-show, was offered the role but rejected it because he considered it "too violent". Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta declined the role for the same reason. When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.

Don't know why Anthrax gets so much hate. They're not as thrashy as the others, but they're still good in their own way.

Or at least their first albums were. After that... meh.

But Megadeth is my favorite. Gotta love Mustaine, such a mad genius. Even when he's not doing thrash *coughYouthanasiacough* he's still writing good songs.

And Megadeth's debut is seriously underrated. It gets overshadowed by Peace Sells... But Who's Buying? and Rust In Peace far too much. Such a deliciously vicious thrash album.

Totally agree. Killing Is My Business is by far their angriest album. It goes for the throat as much as any Slayer album. It was also one of the first albums I ever bought.

I enjoy the first Megadeth. But it gets overshadwed by those other 2 because it is not as strong. Works as a debut, but something feels like it is missing to me compared to the albums after. Good, but not great album.

I would probably rank it third for the best of the debuts for me.

Show No Mercy > Kill 'em All > Killing Is My Business > Fistful of Metal
