Second disc of "Garage Inc." is worth picking that comp up.... first disc, just a throwaway album of mediocre covers.

I keep going to the music store around here and they have an original vinyl copy of "Metal Up Your A*s"... but it is not for sale.... I keep telling them they should put it in a frame or something, cause I want it, lol.

They had a cassette copy of the "$5.95 EP", but they wouldnt sell that either.

So what is better, Garage Inc or S&M?

Well what are you in the mood for?
An album of covers or an album done with an orchestra?

Really? S&M was awesome! The DVD is excellent as well. I think some of James' best vocals are on that record.

I enjoy S&M. Some of the thrashier songs don't work as well, but the songs from "Load" for example sound amazing

S&M waaaaaay better. Garage Inc. has some standouts, but is not worth full price. Get it for cheap secondhand, or download it.

I'm the opposite. I think the more complex structures of the older stuff works better with an orchestra, while the later stuff just sounds two dimensional and boring.
