Default Rosetta

Hey guys the forum is great! Has anyone ever listened to Rosetta? Amazing Amazing ambient metal band from Philadelphia PA. These guys write some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard for a heavy band. The music itself is just so layered and full of texture that it makes for a really intense listening experience.

1. The Galilean Satellites. First album and probably my favorite next to there newest one. Many of the songs are instrumental and give off a real "spacey" feeling. Strong points in this album are in the middle, especially the song "Absent"

2. Wake/lift. Second album and equally as good as the first if not better. Vocals seem to be a much bigger difference in this album compared to The Galilean Satellites. This album is packed full of amazing linear riffs and equally amazing drum beats. It carries this intensity the whole way through the album as well.

3. A determinism of morality. Third album and probably my new favorite. Rosetta took a pretty fresh approach to this one, ex. shorter lengths on songs, more cases where the beat is faster than there previous albums. I love the new direction this band took. I definitely feel like it was a step taken in the right direction. The changes in this album are noticeable while Rosetta still managed to keep there trademarked "Space Metal" type of metal.

If anyone has a question as to which album to check out first don't hesitate to ask. These guys are definitely one of my favorite bands and always leave me with a pleasurable listening experience.

Didn't know whether or not to necro-bump this thread or the post-metal thread, but they have a new album out on Bandcamp, a "pay what you like" deal and I think this album may be a contender for album of the year for me.

Rosetta
