To me I didn't think it was a Springsteen song (haven't caught the album yet) but a lot closer to some of the 90s bands I listened to - can't place it yet.

Anyway, I listened to the album. It's a lot of Nebraska from Springsteen and shades of Joshua Tree from U2.

This makes me want to swerve my bike into traffic.

I meant to say, if you wanted a Springsteen-influenced band that's less transparent about it, I love a lot of what the Hold Steady puts out, and the horns/organ combo from 70's Bruce is laced throughout their albums.
