5 albums for a rock newbie

Hey im open to anything you see from the bands i originally listed i got South Africans, Americans , Canadians and i believe RATM frontman is of mexican descent, so anyway the point is it dont matter where it comes from as long as its good music. Am i right or am i right. BTW thanks.

I agree good music is great regardless of where it comes from. The reason I said the first 5 were English bands and the 3 others were American. Is that despite the differences in the bands themselves, that there is a very different feel and experience in listening to these bands, the English experience is very different to the American one. Taking the 3 American examples: Mountain are heavily blues influenced, Blue Oyster cult proto metal and James Gang very earthy, experimental with a good dosage of mid western rock thrown in there. All three are distinctly in my opinion American very different to the Brit bands of the time. It just gives you a great perspective overall.

My bad I didnt mean any disrespect and im grateful for the lesson as you clearly seem to know what you talking about. Ill definetely check them out and let you know what I think afterwards
