Anything by Queen or The Police. These are Virgin Radio's favourites in the UK. I swear the total playtime of these bands songs take up two hours everyday!

I can only think of 7 songs by The Police that get radioplay, and Roxanne and Every Breath You Take are the only ones that get played a LOT.
Queen do have several songs on the radio but the only ones I can't bear to hear anymore is We Will Rock You and We Are the Champions. I'd say the most overplayed band on the radio is Aerosmith, without a f*cking doubt. We're talking well over 20 songs (possibly more it's hard to tell when so many of their songs sound the same) that are in constant rotation, finding themselves on every rock radio format that there is and maybe 5 or 6 of them are actually good songs. You know, when your first 5 albums are your only good ones and you have put out nothing but crap from 1979 until the present day and yet you're still playing in sold out arenas and are considered one of the untouchable god bands in rock music I'd say you're pretty damn overrated. If it weren't for Tyler I don't think anyone would consider Aerosmith anything more than an adequate Rolling Stones cover band, though they haven't even been that since the mid 80s. Hell Steven Tyler's greatest contribution to the world isn't even music related. So yeah, I'm sick of Aerosmith. Toys in the Attic and Rocks are still great albums though. Boston Rox On!!!
Well, "Feeling" is DEFINITELY my fave. God, I think during the past 34 years (since'76), I must have listened to MTAF something like 30,000 to 40,000 times (no bulldust!!). I used to listen to it BACKWARDS too - and it sounds just as good!!!

I kinda like that song actually. It's a stupid but fun little song with a memorable hook and also it has the most hilariously terrible guitar solo of all time, of which always has me giggling a bit. I guess you can call it a guilty pleasure.
In addition to the aforementioned Aerosmith I have to mention Foreigner. With the sole exception of Double Vision, Juke Box Hero and Blue Morning, Blue Day which are pretty groovy songs, I despise pretty much every single this band ever put out. Don't even get me started on Urgent. Last edited by boo boo; 07-09-2010 at 09:07 AM. |

Pretty much any new Pop/Rock/"Club music is overplayed. All crap too. I love the old rock.
- A lot of the music you're naming is good music. I don't reckon that they are overplayed (besides KINGS OF LEON, who had one song a couple of years ago that I loved, but I don't know what it's called. Main singer screams every 4 seconds ), though I live in Australia so this might explain it. |
