I'd say most of their recent work has been just "eh". I'd say after Divine Interventions there's a big drop off, especially with Diabolus In Musica, which was easily as bad as anything that Metallica ever released. Maybe not as bad as The Unforgiven II, but seriously Slayer with rapping and ****, what the **** man.

I loved Unforgiven II, and the 1st for that matter. I guess I just enjoyed lighter songs as well as heavier songs. Don't know who's the wisest; those who like the light songs or those who detest them...? That is basically what it comes down to, right? Who's the heavier metal head than the next. I love Kill 'Em All, which was their rawest, and in my opinion their heaviest. But I also love the Black Album. Sometimes I'll never understand the hatred towards lighter songs. |
